LGOIMA Responses

Horowhenua District Council processes requests for information in accordance with the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) and the Privacy Act 2020. These aim to balance issues of transparency and public interest with limits on the disclosure of personal information.

Responses to Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) requests that we consider to be of wider public interest, or which relate to a subject that has been widely requested, will be published on our website as they become available along with a summary of the request. To protect the privacy of individuals, we won't generally publish personal information about individuals, or information that identifies individual requesters.     Request for information about the Waikawa Beach Road Project including why the stated landowner isn't the entity that has to apply in the event the project does advance to resource consent stage, the established access route, how the project reflects Council's commitment to Climate Change resilience, whether its Council's intention to promote roads to beaches as part of its 'growth' agenda, whether the expected increase in traffic going to the beach would be included in any resource consent application if made, and project costs.
