Who is responsible for road marking?

Foxton Beach unsuitable for swimming - 20 February 2025

Horizons Regional Council monitor water quality for our district and have a 'Unsuitable for swimming' warning currently in place for Foxton Beach. The warning includes swimming, water activities and kai collection. Another sample will be taken at Foxton Beach today - keep an eye on the LAWA website (Land, Air, Water Aotearoa) for any updates.

Water Conservation Levels in place

Level 1 Water Conservation is in place for Shannon & Tokomaru from Friday 24 January 2025 until further notice. Level 2 Water Conservation is in place for Levin and Ōhau from Thursday 23 January 2025 until further notice. Water Conservation Level 2 remains in place for Foxton and Foxton Beach until further notice.

Who is responsible for road marking?

Council is responsible for road marking Council roads and some road marking relating to parking in the CBD area of Oxford Street (SH1). Road marking is carried out annually.

Any requests for new road marking are assessed by the Roading Operations Team and if required can be programmed to be completed at the same time as other road marking work.
