Why was my council rubbish bag not collected?

There are three main reasons for your rubbish bags not being collected:

  1. It may have been put out late. Rubbish bags, recycling bins and crates that are placed at the kerbside after 7:30am may not be collected.
  2. Your rubbish bags weighs more than 10kgs.
  3. Your rubbish bag may not be an official Horowhenua District Council Bag. Only official Horowhenua District Council rubbish bags will be collected by our contractors. Rubbish in non-branded bags can be taken to one of the transfer stations for disposal. Please see our Rubbish & Recycling Fees & Charges page for bag disposal costs.
