Who checks the Long Term Plan?

LTPs must be audited, that is, rigorously and independently checked, looking at figures, budgets, logic and assumptions. The draft LTP first underwent a rigorous audit by Audit NZ before it went out for consultation.  After consultation and before adoption a further detailed audit was conducted by the Office of the Auditor General in late May to mid-June, and the final audit by Audit NZ followed shortly after.  We've received a clean audit for the Long Term Plan from Audit NZ, that means there were no matters to raise as concerns.

Through this Council has ensured compliance throughout the process, maintaining transparency and accountability.
