Another two weeks have flown by. Sunday morning, on 2 April we will turn our clocks back one hour as Daylight Savings ends, signalling the end of the first quarter of 2023 and Easter celebrations, school holidays and ANZAC Day around the corner.

It was great to have the Long Term Plan Amendment (LTPA) adopted at the extraordinary council meeting on Wednesday 22 March 2023. This year we want to make changes and tackle three major topics as part of the LTPA and we need your input on shaping a fairer financial future, the Future of the Levin Landfill, and our three waters infrastructure

I encourage you to get involved and engage in the district's future. The formal consultation period for the Long Term Plan 2021-2041 Amendment and Annual Plan 2023/24 began on 27 March and runs until 1 May. Learn more about the challenges and share your thoughts about these important topics. Make a submission, even if you just tick a box to tell us what you think we should do. But first, you can learn more about the LTP Amendment on Let's Kōrero Horowhenua

The Liverpool Street, Levin water reticulation pipe renewal and the Cambridge Street North, Levin wastewater work are progressing nicely. The Coley Pond stormwater retention pond in North East Levin is now finished. Great progress is being made at the Waitārere Beach Surf Life Saving Community Facility with the remaining precast panels in place.

Last week we had a busy week with lots of things happening. We showcased some mahi opportunities at Council as part of Futures Day, inspiring the future generations of local government to give them a taste of work life. They had a fabulous time participating in these sessions.

We value your feedback and are committed to working with you to resolve your concerns. Complete the survey below and tell us your experience with Council's parks and recreational services - it will help us to understand your needs and expectations and how we can improve our services. The more we hear from you, the better informed our decisions will be.
