York Street, Levin Temporary Road Closure

To ensure a more reliable wastewater network, Council has appointed Higgins to install a new water and wastewater main on York Street, Levin.

The crew will be working on the section between Bristol Street, Levin and SH1.

For public safety during the next stage of this project, we will need to close the section between Bristol Street and Oxford Street and divert traffic around the surrounding streets during the day.

Planned start date: Monday 10 June 2024
Expected completion date: Monday 1 July 2024, weather dependent
Work hours: 8am to 5pm
Affected area: Properties from 18 York Street to 2 York Street on the north side, and from 17 York Street to 1 Oxford Street on the south side.

Affected residents will have access to their properties.

Please take notice of, and follow, the temporary traffic management each day as it may change from day to day.

All excavations will be fenced-off and covered at the end of each day. For your safety and the safety of others, please obey the temporary speed limits and avoid fenced-off areas.

Disruptions will be kept to a minimum while the work is being undertaken and the work will be signposted. When it is safe, the road will be reopen at night.
