Vehicle access closed – Waikawa Beach

Access to Waiakawa Beach is closed until further notice due to high tide, river flow, strong winds and large swells, which have caused flooding in the area.

We cannot determine the depth of the Waikawa Stream, which is flowing right next to the bank, so we have placed bollards at the entrance to protect the safety of residents and vehicles who may attempt to use the beach entrance.
