The Horowhenua District, one of New Zealand's fastest-growing areas, presents abundant challenges and opportunities. Our Planning Team seeks a Planning Technician to provide technical support for processing Resource Consent applications and related activities. In this your you will also evaluate residential and non-residential work to determine developer contributions and informing relevant external parties of any fees. 

Working closely with the Development Engineering, Building, Consenting and Customer Experience teams, you'll be exposed to a wide variety of work, from the handling of straightforward resource consents to the management of workflow processes and targets.

He kōrero mōu - About you

You'll be working with a range of customers, both internal and external, providing expert planning advice. As such you'll have exceptional communication skills and be able to adjust your language to suit the audience.

We are looking for someone who has outstanding interpersonal and customer care skills, is self-motivated and has good organisational skills. You will ideally have some experience in the planning discipline or a strong interest in developing your skills and knowledge base in this space.

This is a permanent full time role that will work in a flexible, collaborative and supportive work environment. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with someone who demonstrates the right attitude and skills.
