Elections
For the 2019 local body elections, Horowhenua was divided into four wards. Registered voters elected a Mayor and ten Councillors who represented the four wards – the wards and number of Councillors associated with each ward were:
- Levin – five Councillors
- Kere Kere Ward – two Councillors
- Waiopehu – two Councillors
- Miranui – one Councillor
As well as the Council, voters also elected:
- Five members of the Foxton Community Board
- Two members to represent the Horowhenua Kairanga Constituency of the Manawatū-Whanganui Regional Council (Horizons)
- Seven members of the MidCentral District Health Board.
