Water Supply Bylaw 2020

Horowhenua District Council's Water Supply Bylaw 2020 was adopted by Council on 9 December 2020 and came into force on this day.

Purpose of the Bylaw

The purpose of this Bylaw is to:

  • protect, promote and maintain public health and safety;
  • protect public water supply infrastructure;
  • protect the public from nuisance by making rules for the supply of water; and
  • manage and regulate Council’s Water Supply.

Revocation & Review

The Horowhenua District Council Water Supply Bylaw 2014 was revoked with immediate effect following the adoption of the Water Supply Bylaw 2020.

This Bylaw shall be reviewed within five (5) years from 9 December 2020, however it can be reviewed at any other time before this date at the discretion of Council.
