I love Horowhenua ❤️ because I have a great sense of belonging. My whānau have lived within the rohe for generations. The whenua is part of my bones. I belong to local Iwi and like to feel I am a kaitiaki of the district.
I love Horowhenua because of the outdoors. I enjoy being able to swim over summer in our rivers. From Ōhau, it's a quick drive to Hokio beach and the "wild" Waitārere where I spend long days in the sun swimming and having BBQ’s with friends. The Tararuas are also
👌
where dad and I enjoy having day tramps and the ability of easy access to learn and grow my knowledge of native bird and tree growth. Rōngoa bush craft is a hobby I enjoy along with hunting and fishing. We can head over to Foxton and fish off the wharf with my brother.
I love Horowhenua because I have joined Athletics Rugby 🏉 Club. I have built very good friendships within my team and a great sense of belonging as our year has grown into a whanau environment. We support each other and not just on the field.
I love Horowhenua because when I walk up town there is always a friendly face I know with big smiles
😃 people are down to earth and have a joke ready I love ❤️ that.
I love Horowhenua because Poroutawhao School is here, and that I can go to a rural country school with a small roll and old fashioned quality value systems. I'm a person, not a number there.
