Foxton Beach Community Centre and Health Shuttle
We have been providing a health shuttle service for over 30 years.
We are a charitable organisation with over 25 volunteers providing an essential health and well being service to our community.
The Foxton Beach Community Centre is reliant on funding from donations and grants.
Our mission statement:
“To provide a Centre that will foster health and well being for people in our community.”
Shuttle vans
The FBCC Health (and well being) Shuttle runs from Foxton Beach to Levin and Palmerston North daily – and needs to be booked in advance.
Our shuttle vans can be booked for:
- Health appointments
e.g. medical, dental, hearing, vision, physiotherapy.
- Wellbeing purposes
e.g. counselling, support groups, solicitor, library, hospital visit.
- Essential purchases
eg. pharmacy, groceries.
Our shuttle vans cover:
Travel: door-to-door service provided
Travel pick-up locations
- Foxton & Foxton Beach
- Himitangi Beach
- Waitarere Beach
- Shannon
Destinations
All of the above towns plus:
- Palmerston North
- Levin
- Masterton & Wellington Hospitals
- Other destinations by appointment.
Wheelchairs are available in the Health Shuttle vans. One of our vans is accessible by wheelchair.

Our on-site services:
- Best Care Nurse
Each Wednesday from 10.00am to 12 noon for wound dressing, BP checks, B12 injections, men and women health issues. No appointment necessary. No charge.
- Health Providers
e.g. Plunket Nurse by appointment, Alcohol Anonymous, Birthing Services, Stroke Drop in. A full list of providers and the dates & times can be found on Facebook — Foxton Beach Community Centre.
- JP available by appointment.
- Free public noticeboard.
- Photocopying, laminating and shredding.
Location for:
- Drop off for the return of Palmerston North Hospital and Horowhenua Health Centre equipment.
- Collection Centre for used household batteries for safe disposal.
- Depot for Horowhenua Chronicle
We have an AED defibrillator situated on an external wall 24/7.
