Thompson House

Thompson House, Levin venue thumbnail image.

Situated on Kent Street, Levin within the Green Flag-awarded gardens is Thompson House, a gracious old home built in the 1920s, set in lovely grounds.

Promoting the cultural, artistic and social life of Levin and the wider district, Thompson House is popular with community organisations, exhibitors and members of the public for exhibitions, workshops and a variety of meetings.

Exhibitions and workshops held at Thompson House have included:

  • arts;
  • crafts;
  • antiques;
  • works in glass, silver and bronze;
  • prints and photography;
  • poetry readings; and
  • book launches.

These have all been well supported by the community.

There are four rooms within the building which can accommodate between 12 and 60 people and are available for hire at a modest cost.

Hire costs

Details of hire costs can be viewed on the Thompson House website.  There is a fully equipped kitchen available at no extra charge.

Disability access

There's a path to the front door and a toilet designed to accommodate a wheelchair.  The Gallery, Office and Room 3 on the second floor can only be reached via stairs due to the age and historic status of the House.

Parking

Parking is free on the street and there are two disabled car parks right next to the front entrance gates.
