Water Conservation Levels in place

Level 1 Water Conservation is in place for Shannon & Tokomaru from Friday 24 January 2025 until further notice. Level 2 Water Conservation is in place for Levin and Ōhau from Thursday 23 January 2025 until further notice. Water Conservation Level 2 remains in place for Foxton and Foxton Beach until further notice.

Hōkio Beach & Waikawa Beach unsuitable for swimming - 11 February 2025

Horizons Regional Council monitor water quality for our district and have 'Unsuitable for swimming' warnings currently in place for Hōkio Beach and Waikawa Beach. These warnings include swimming, water activities and kai collection. Keep an eye on the LAWA website (Land, Air, Water Aotearoa) for any updates.

Tokomaru School

Tokomaru School is a Decile 6, Year 1-8 full primary school situated 20km south of Palmerston North on State Highway 57 with a current roll of 113 students (this will be 109 at the start of 2018). While Tokomaru School is at the northern end of the Horowhenua District, the majority of its families travel to Palmerston North for work and/or services.
