A popular picnic area on the banks of the Manawatu River, just downstream from the Manawatu Marine Boating Club which is a great place for kids to catch a fish off the jetty. A lime walkway on top of the rivers stop bank takes you past the world famous ‘Ramsar’ site which is home to rare migrating birds, then through to Holben Reserve. For those who wish to explore a little further a dune walkway leads down to the estuary and out to the Manawatu River mouth. Dogs allowed on a leash but please keep away from birds.
